The Grimmest of Anguses

"Grim Angus first the bloody chase began,
A mighty hunter, and his prey was Man."

The first two warlocks I built for Jack were a battlebox Madrak1, and Grim Angus.  Both were immediately slated to be orc-ified, of course (a fact that contributed to their being on top of the list) and the Madrak alterations were straightforward - just a head swap, slight re-posing, a run-of-the-mill leg replacement surgery, and some gap filling

By contrast, Grim ended up being... a bit of a project. The first stab was comparable to the above, including a head swap, some orc bits, and the removal of the goofy gunblade in favor of a hand-axe.  But the result just didn't 'click' for us.

"I'm gonna net you, sucka."
I think, in part, this was an artifact from the classic Grim model's pose.  He's leaning awkwardly forward (exacerbated by the larger orc head), he's using the netgun instead of the 1,000% Cooler * magic sniper rifle... it needed some work.  I was originally planning to sculpt the signature goggles on to this head, but ended up just swapping in an orc pilot head from 40k instead.

What I ended up doing was a more extensive reposing, cutting away all four limbs in their entirety and rebuilding them.  He's in a more static stance, with one foot up on a rock, to give the sense that he is surveying the terrain from a high vantage point, hunting for his prey.  And of course, he has his signature rifle at the ready.

The only thing that was really missing at that point was the accessories removed previously - his net gun and a melee weapon to substitute for the gunblade.  I made an attempt to sculpt a holstered net gun, but it didn't really work well, so I pressed a couple suitably rough looking orc bits into service to do the job.

I will follow up shortly with photos of the paint job Jack did for Grim.
